The Natural Cat-Eye (Great with Glasses!) Tutorial

FOTD
(Not me^)

This look is great if you love easy cat-eyes and prefer more natural makeup.

For this look I've decided to use a good friend of mine as a model (above). :P Her skin is darker than mine as I'm an Ivory while shes more of a Beige. Thus this makeup is going to suit her skin tone! (That doesn't mean it wont look good on your skin tone.)

What I used:
  • Eyeshadow: e.l.f. Studio Master Makeup Collection
  • Eye Primer: Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow
  • Concealer: Revlon Photo Ready Light Pale 002
  • Foundation: Mary Kay Powder Foundation Beige .5
  • Blush: Cover Girl Classic Color Soft Mink 590
  • Lip Gloss: e.l.f. Studio Master Makeup Collection
  • Mascara: Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara Black
  • Angled Eyeshadow Brush: BH Cosmetics
  • Pencil Liner: e.l.f. Studio Mini Makeup Collection

Natural Cat-Eye

Step 1)
Apply your Eye Primer and use scotch tape to create a sort of masking tape on the outer corner of your eye. (See here if you're confused.)

Step 2)
Apply a Red-Pink from the middle of your lids to the outer corners only, starting from the lash line to the brow bone.

Step 3)
Apply a Peach-Gold from the middle of your lids to the inner corner of your eyes. Eyelids only.

Step 4)
Apply a Dark Burgundy (Purple/Red) to the very outer corners. Blend up towards the brow bone.

Step 5)
Highlight the brow bone and the very inner corners of the eye with a shimmery White.

Step 6)
Dampen an Angled Shadow Brush with a wet cloth. (Mine is from BH Cosmetics) Remove the Scotch Tape from your eyes.

Step 7)
Use the damp Angled Brush to apply a Dark Grey as an Eyeliner for the top lash line. Make a soft wing lined all the way out to the end of your eyebrows.

Step 8)
Line waterline with a Black Pencil liner and apply Mascara.

Step 9)
Apply your Blush and Lip Color.

Finished!

As you can see my friend has a natural rosy look going. Despite this, the grey liner does a good job of giving the eyes a beautiful catty shape.

This look also goes great with Glasses!

Because Glasses tend to cover up all the effort you put into your makeup it is encouraged to use some bright colors. (I used a fairly bright Red-Pink as you can see in the tutorial) Bright colors help show your eyes through thick frames, bringing attention to them. The cat-like shape is also still visible due to the dramatic length I gave the Liner Wing. Despite all this you can plainly see the makeup is still quite natural-looking!

Give this a try! It isn't complicated and once you get the hang of it I guarantee you'll get through it so quick you'll contemplate using it for your morning routine. ;)
